Project Cane Changer

Far North Queensland / Australia

In recent times, there has been a call to action to protect the Great Barrier Reef against the significant threats of climate change, including poor water quality. Responding to the call are Queensland’s sugar cane growers who represent 4000+ businesses farming sugar along the Reef coastline. Queensland growers have a rich history of innovation and are continually making changes to protect the reef that they love and take pride in. Project Cane Changer is our flagship project that utilizes behavioral science to value, recognize and accelerate the efforts of adopting farming practices that help protect the reef.

Our Owasco

The Finger Lakes / USA

The use of cover crops and other soil health practices can increase farmer productivity and improve water quality by reducing soil and nutrient run-off into local waterways. We're working with The Nature Conservancy to understand farmers' attitudes and behaviors towards adopting best management farming practices and are developing a community-based behavior change program to increase their uptake.

Climate Adapation

NEW YORK city / USA

The increased risk of flooding is now recognized as one of New York’s most significant long-term climate change threats. It poses a major threat that can lead to wide-ranging societal, economic and environmental impacts. Using our expertize in behavioral science, we’re working with The Nature Conservancy to create long-term flood mitigation strategies to ensure key leaders throughout New York City are equipped with the necessary tools and resources required to adapt.

Improving Financial Literacy

Queensland / Australia

Living with debt can be highly stressful and challenging. Having debt is associated with poor mental and physical health outcomes and those possessing debt are often among the most vulnerable community members. To help improve these outcomes, we are working with Panthera Finance to ensure that their customers are supported in handling their debt. Our efforts focus on providing customers with process transparency, increasing accessibility to support, enhancing financial literacy and empowering customers to better manage their debt.

Driving High Value Care

Queensland / Australia

Low Value Care refers to the administration of any clinical activities that have no or little benefit to patients, and often where the harm or risk to the patient outweighs the benefit. We are working with Queensland Health to support existing initiatives by applying a behavioral science lens towards understanding the factors that influence the provision of Low Value Care in Queensland medical facilities, and co-designing initiatives to further drive the provision of High Value Care.

Reef Challenge

Australia

Climate change is the single greatest threat to the health of the Great Barrier Reef. Rising water temperatures and extreme weather events can cause major damage to the reef and associated marine ecosystems. Evidn is working with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF) to understand and promote the actions that all Australians can take to reduce their carbon emissions and help protect the Great Barrier Reef.

Building a Healthy Bundaberg

Bundaberg / Australia

Bundaberg Regional Council has set an ambitious goal to reduce the region’s obesity rate to below national averages by 2030. To help achieve this goal we are working closely with Health and Wellbeing Queensland, Bundaberg Regional Council, Queensland Government and a range of other stakeholders to design a place-based program aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Bundaberg residents. Our contributions will focus on understanding the system of factors influencing people's health-related attitudes and behaviors, delivering community-based training, and creating a framework to capture behavioral changes in the community.

Enhancing Adoption

Far North Queensland / Australia

Extension officers provide the most information and guidance directly to growers. A key opportunity facing the extension workforce is how to best engage with farmers and increase the adoption of farming practices for better productivity and environmental outcomes. Evidn’s behavioral skills training provides a fresh approach to equipping extension professionals with the skills to maximize their effectiveness on the ground.

Road Safety

Queensland / Australia

In recent years, Queensland has seen a major spike in the number of rear-end accidents on our roads. Often these accidents occur in peak hour dense traffic where frustrations are high. Despite their ‘low-risk’ nature, the financial costs associated with rear-end collisions are high and require new and innovative ways to reduce them. The Be A Mate campaign is helping tackle road safety and Queensland's billion-dollar motor accident insurance costs by targeting prosocial behaviors of road users.
